About
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Christian Spiritual Counselor. I received my Master's in Professional Counseling at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology/Argosy University. I received my Christian Counseling Certification through The American Institute of Health Care Professionals. I have been licensed in the state of New Jersey as an Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 2007 and when I moved to Florida I became licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in September 2014.
My clinical approach to counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) with the incorporation of Christian principles and values.
Cognitive Behavioral therapy involves identifying and changing faulty thinking and core beliefs by finding and establishing alternative/balance thoughts, that will in turn lead to a change in feelings and behavior. This falls in line with Christian teaching, as St. Paul teaches, "Put off your old nature...and be renewed in the spirit of your minds...and put on the new nature" (Ephesians 4: 22-24).

FAQs
1. Do I need to be a Christian to receive counseling?
No. I am a licensed mental health counselor and can provide you treatment regardless of your religious or spiritual faith. I am not a preacher, pastor, or priest and it is not my job, as a counselor to teach you religious doctrine or try to convert you. My job is to meet you where you are and help you move past the issues that you are coming to therapy to try and resolve. My Christian faith is what motivates me to help others who are suffering in emotional distress.
2. Do you accept insurance?
No. Currently I only accept Cash or Check. I will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. At this time I am also unable to accept credit cards, however that is coming soon.
3. Do you offer evening and weekend hours?
Yes. My evening hours are from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, and Saturday mornings 8am to 12pm.
4. How long are the counseling sessions?
Each session last 50 minutes to 1 hour. There is no time frame to how long the course of therapy will take. Treatment is individualized and we work at your pace.
